Behind the scenes
Planning for this event began in March 2024, and the organising team made up of volunteer specialists (all local Rotarians) - started their
prepara�on. You may think this is straigh�orward, but here is just a sample
of the contribu�ons made:
Treasury – ensuring the maximum amount goes to our good causes
Marke�ng & PR – everything from securing sponsors and adver�sers to
preparing the publicity and marke�ng the event
Social Media – Facebook and Instagram, the face of the Fun Run
Procurement – purchasing the suits, medals, race numbers and everything
needed to run the event
Permissions, Insurance and H&S – road closures, park use, insurance and
looking a�er the environment to ensure we put on a safe event!
IT support – wri�ng, developing and tes�ng our home grown so�ware that
supports the entry process
Entry Administra�on – making sure that the 3,000 entrants are properly
entered – and all issues are resolved
Webmaster – preparing and managing the website
Volunteer Management – organising the 150 people needed to run the
event on December 1st
Distribu�on Management – packing and managing the distribu�on of suits
to 3,000 people including home delivery or depot collec�on
Event Management – on the day route and marshal management.
